Moments of Inspiration
I hope the collection on this page will provide you with a moment of inspiration that meets you wherever you are right now.
This is Water
This is Water is a 10-minute video created from excerpts out of a commencement address given by late author, David Foster Wallace. This sums up my personal life philosophy, which also forms the basis for my approach to coaching.
Note: If the video is unavailable on YouTube, type these search terms into google and look for a ~9 minute video on YouTube or Vimeo. Search terms: "david foster wallace this is water video"
Pithy Quotes
I find these quotes to be inspirational and challenging. They remind me of truths that are easy to forget when the heat comes and everything in me wants to slip into my default mode (a.k.a unconsciousness).

Chariots of Fire
"I believe God made me for a purpose. He also made me fast.
And when I run I feel his pleasure."
- Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire
And when I run I feel his pleasure."
- Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire
Chariots of Fire is one of my all-time favorite films. My favorite quote comes from Eric Liddell, as he explains to his sister, Jenny, why he needs to run in the Olympics rather than go immediately to China as a missionary (incidentally, Liddell did end up going to China, and he died there in an internment camp near the end of WWII). This scene at the end of the movie shows how Liddell taps into his passion. Where do you feel God's pleasure?
Deepest Fear & Wild and Precious Life
I confess, I'm not a poetry connoisseur. But these passages/poems speak to me about living the way I want to live: fully, intentionally, and passionately. Click on the image to read the entire text.

I am an artist.
I am an artist. I see the world in shapes and colors as well as through ideas and concepts. I've expressed my creative side in different ways throughout my life: guitar, songwriting, spreadsheets (yes, spreadsheets are my canvas!), PowerPoints, writing, photography, and, most recently, watercolor painting. I started a blog several years ago to document my process of learning how to paint. I share it here to encourage other artists who might be struggling to claim and live into their creative identity among so many competing identities.
